Elements from the Feri Tradition of Witchcraft aligned to bring forth this image. It depicts the ‘Black Heart of Innocence,’ which is a state of being understood to represent the primal nature of humankind when we are free from social conditioning. It is when we sense the world around us from the place of our black heart that we may truly love freely and unconditionally, allowing our soul’s desire to guide us more so than the wants of others. What arises from this pure, black heart are flames that represent ‘Blue Fire.’ Much of the sorcery developed through the Bloodrose line of Feri draws on this limitless, universal energy to power our magick. It is used to strengthen us, and to amplify the energy that goes into our spellwork. The third symbol is the seven pointed star, called the ‘Faery Star’ by some. As it is in many magickal systems, the number seven is significant in Feri. For some it represents the four cardinal directions, along with the space above, below, and center, thereby being a number that is all encompassing. This board measures approximately eight inches by eight inches. Mounted on wood, these boards are then protected by layers of varnish.The pendulum measures approximately nine inches in length, and features a wire-nested crystal that swings with ease. Another crystal at the top, smooth and flat, allows you to hold the pendulum in comfort. |
When working alone with a talking board a pendulum can be easier to handle than a planchette. Allowing the pendulum to hang still, then moving it in a clockwise direction above the circle of letters and numbers will quickly effect it. The pendulum begins to revolve, and moving forward or back across a cluster of icons will reveal which one the crystal is attracted to. Continue this action until your questions are fully spelled out. |
